Let us hope that ALEC succeeds. A balanced budget amendment in practice will be a shock to the system.

Democrats have no plan to retake the states. None.

Why would corporate America want a balanced budget amendment? Surely, they must understand that their continuing profits require federal deficits? Is ruling class disdain for the commoner so intense that they're willing to forego profits just to smash the worker?

Of course a Republican sponsored balanced budget amendment would have loopholes for the military and other corporate welfare. The impact would be on domestic programs that help the working class.
