"there are other darker frames in waiting, such as authoritarian nationalism"

Tom how is that a 'darker frame'?

Folks want a better understanding of state currency systems so how is a system like that implemented successfully without nationalism?

All the 'control fraud' peanut gallery people want fraud prosecuted how is that accomplished without authority?

so we dont want nationalism and instead want open borders with chaos and how is a state currency system supposed to operate successfully under those conditions?

Unemployed people just walk in to another country with a JG and then all the MMT people commit hari-kari becasue there is unemployment manifested in an uncontrolled nation with a JG?

neo-liberal USD zombie nut jobs continue to denigrate authority and run amok with even more freedom and lack of regulation and that is supposed to help how????

A bit of rant, but it's how some others see the authoritarian nationalists of the GOP.

The ‘control fraud’ people I listen to say that “authority’ abdicated its responsibility and caused the fraud.

Start listening around minute 38.

Not cause it, but permitted it through lack of an application of regulation.

Tom,

I'm an authoritarian nationalist if it means an anti establishment fresh face in the White House, secure borders, less military adventurism, maintaining social security, reforming in a major way Obamacare, having an alpha leader like a Putin in Trump (not a wimpy hack like Obama), and blowing to smithereens the fiction of so called free trade.

Far as I'm concerned the ranter you linked to and all his ilk can kiss my tight derriere.

The FBI warned of massive fraud in the mortgage industry in Dec 2004. Greenspan, who as Fed chair, was the regulator-in-chief blew it off saying that markets automatically police themselves.

There are also reports of others lower down the chain of authority that we either gagged or fired when they spoke up about those or similar issues.

Obama-Holder showed that there is no authority operative with their get out of jail free cards.

No when it come to ordinary people or the disadvantaged, that's another matter. Then it is discipline and punishment, often extra-legal.

The US has become a rule-free zone at the top and a police state in the middle and at the bottom.

That's how negatively authoritarian states work.

This is a pretty common perception abroad and quite a few Americans agree with it, too.

I think it is a rant because some of it exaggerated. But also not all authoritarian nationalists hold all these views or at that level of intensity.

But the evidence does point to their being groups who do do hold at least one of those views at the same level of intensity. That adds up to a lot of people on the Authoritarian Nationalist side of the authoritarian-libertarian; nationalists-internationalist matrix. Some of these are extremists and both Trump and Cruz are appealing to them at least implicitly.

Tom,

There are extremists on the left too, and a shitload of hateful venom spewing out of them. And these folks are Sanders fanatics too. They don't occupy moral high ground IMO.

Anyway, my ire wasn't directed at you, but rather the ranter. Their/his shrill rantings get amplified disproportionately by the Fourth Column and it annoys me. You don't stoop to that level of invective, and I really do admire that quality in you.

Tom that Speigel thing is complete snobbery... form over substance... this from the nation that incubated the Nazis and now Schauble LOL!

And if Trump is the nominee and can win NY I dont see how a Dem can win.... let's watch what goes on this week in NY its going to be the most hard hitting yet imo... and probably revealing about how Trump would do in the General there....

Op Ed pieces are signals, and the source of the signal is also key since it indicates who is signaling. Signals are multidimensional and addressed to different parties, e.g. propaganda for the masses and messages to elites.
