Greg Johnson — God Emperor No More

For the Alt Right, it’s Mourning in America. We believed in this guy. We liked this guy. And now he just seems stupid. Frankly, so do we....
Now they know what progressives felt when they realized they got had by Obama.

The Alt Right’s relationship with Trump was always a one-way man crush, based largely on projections. Ending such a relationship is a healthy thing.

Here here. Now go find yourself another God Emperor, you nitwits.

You mean Mike Pence?

I'm not convinced there's much to worry about if third party candidates were to become increasingly popular. There would be Bernie/Jill Stein progressives on one end and Nationalist/Isolationist conservatives on the other. The Alt-R is on the lunatic fringe. They would latch on to a N/I third party as surely as they did with Trump. They have no other road to power.

This is assuming there will be another presidential election in the US...

I think Tom that many who put their faith in Trump will become political atheists. I see apathy rather than rage at the system. I think people will start to sober up a bit and realize the importance of rebuilding their local communities and economies. The seeds are already in place for this type of thinking. It will become more viable as Trump continues to destroy the current world order.

Trump isn't destroying the world order, he's just starting to execute the Deep State's plan as outlined in Th e Project for a New American Century.

We hoped for something else but he's just a witless fool who's in waaaaaaaay over his head. The only good news is he's not Hillary.

Good point Noah. I guess what I meant is that he is destabilizing the current world order. Unwittingly of course.

I agree with Dave, except that it's not just Trump. Trump was the final straw...

Well we're stuck with him for 4 more years so still best for us to watch the numbers and figure out what his policies are really doing sans the "Deep State!" idiot conspiracy theories....

Still waiting to see what his policies will be... numbers don't wait for no one though...

I know! They can make David Duke their next God Emperor! David can go back into politics and that would be a clown show to behold right there.

How about some random KKK moron or Richard Spencer? All wonderful choices right there for alt-right cultists to bow down and worship to. Alex Jones and Stefan Molyneux can help out too.

As I said before, no Deep State required for Trump. You can go back and listen to the stuff that came directly out of his own mouth in the past to figure out what he's gonna do in the future.

That's a conclusion a lot of people came to in the Sixties and Seventies in the US. The countercultural revolution was a result and a lot of people "turn on, tuned in, and dropped out," in the sense of activating their crap detectors, rejecting the BS and choosing to create an alternative culture. But the die hard political types did not and some of them went on to join the system, like Tom Hayden and John Kerry.

Don't you think people have unrealistic expectation for the amount of change Bernie or Trump can bring though? They are establishment guys. And they don't come with majorities of their own creation in legislature. LePen has 2 member in the National Assembly in France, for example.

The disappointment seems overblown.

Obama brought national healthcare. That was huge. All the other criticism of him is true. But you can't take away O-care. GW Bush brought drug coverage to medicare. That was huge.

If people take the long view and allow themselves to see progress rather than their parties winning and losing all the time, they'll see the country is moving along.

As long as America leads the world, the current system will continue to dominate, or at least appear to dominate. Some will sell their souls for power and glory, like Kerry and Hayden. But the current global economic order is not sustainable. Too many flash points. People will figure it out at some point and realize they have no choice but to start something new where they live. There is no messiah coming to save them. They will have to save themselves.

Isolationists should be disappointed. This was a betrayal. Trump's future trade deals may soon come as a disappointment to anti-Globalists. And so on and so forth...
