Remember, Tom, when it was mentioned here a few months ago abouts how Bolton was spotted "sneaking" in and out of the White House? Most political pundits dismissed the idea that Bolton had any chance of being offered any cabinet position.

No surprise really: insane clown president offering the NSA job to a mass murder advocate.

McMaster was boozing and leaking..

"McMaster was boozing and leaking.."

Let's suppose that's true, even though there seems to be no evidence for it, other than McMaster telling Trump that he's living in a make believe world, and Trump acting like the petulant child that he is by smearing someone he claimed was "great", "terrific" and all those other cliched things he says about everyone, even Obama and Hillary! Why replace him with the craziest person in Washington? Because he'll give him one-word briefings? Trump doesn't like to read and McMaster's briefings took up more than a few of Trump's valuable minutes. Why concern yourself with national security when you can think about golf, Ivanka's body, expanding the nuclear arsenal by ten times or tweeting how you're going to fuck someone up?

Or is this more of Trump's multidimensional chess? If there is a worse appointment than Bolton in all of political history, I'd like to hear it. I can't think of one, but help me out here. If this is chess, Trump has ceded in advance all pieces except for the king because he thinks by doing so he'll flip this game on its head and catch his opponents unawares!

The funny thing about Trump is that whenever he brings some new dumb bastard into the White House, Trump sings from the rooftops that this is the greatest appointment in history. That these people are geniuses who are going to blah blah blah. One year later (or less), after Mr Great Appointment has left because they finally understood how unhinged Trump actually is, Trump sings the praises of the next person on the tiny list of cretins who are willing to work for the cretin in chief. I suppose Kelly's next in Trump's crosshairs, the man who was going to instil order and and end the chaos!

It appears they traced the leak about trump congratulating Putin on the election win to McMasters shop so Bolton is coming in to clean house.... all the Obama holdovers are going to get cleaned out... McMaster had to many relationships with the Obama holdovers...

Trump needed a “bad cop” for negotiations with NK and Iran.. now he has one...

You’re describing over half of America....

"... McMaster had to many relationships with the Obama holdovers..."

So why appoint him and sing his praises as some sort of genius? There was no one else available in the whole of the US? When McMaster was appointed he was unveiled as someone who was going to "clean house" and bring in a don't-mess-with-us attitude, a near clone of Flynn. This is more Trump gibberish about McMaster being an incompetent and all the rest of it. McMaster is very hawkish but he lives on planet earth and his views and briefings reflected that. Bolton, like Trump, ives in cloud cuckoo land. So what we'll now see is complete madness.

"You’re describing over half of America...."

And half of America think Europe is a small island off the US coast. Or the earth is five thousand years old. Or man and dinosaurs lives at the same time. Or...well, I'll stop there. Do you want for the US government to be a reflection of public mass ignorance and stupidity? Hey let's bring back the gold standard! More than half of America believes that such a thing exists.

It already is .... “out of money!”, etc ... ???

He gave McMaster a year to get it done and he didn’t get it done so he is replacing him... and he obviously subscribes to the “praise in public and criticize in private” Vince Lombardi theory of personnel management....
