He could also be telling his Fed chairman to stop raising rates... and tying it directly to national security here...

Here’s the tweet:

““Russia and China are playing the Currency Devaluation game as the U.S. keeps raising interest rates. Not acceptable!”

What is ‘not acceptable’?

The China and Russia stuff or the fact that the Fed continues to raise rates in the face of these devaluations? May be the latter...

He's completely clueless, as is his economic team.

Trump and Kudlow probably think the higher US rates increase the value of the USD like most people do... so if the Fed would stop raising it would help the US in this (to them) “currency war!”

If he thinks that it's the Fed raising interest rates that's the problem, he apparently hasn't heard that the Fed is politically independent.

Tom ,

Trump now pulling back on sanctions in quid pro quo for Vlad standing aside during the strike:

Art of the Deal.. hope Vlad figures it out... #4Dchess

More like getting concerned about Germany and Italy, who are getting hit by the sanctions and it is affecting their politics.

The US its shooting itself in the foot, as usual, by not thinking things through.

Well if Vlad could get over the effects of the fetal alcohol and figure it out they could take turns stepping this thing down...

Matt, I don't think it is Putin that has the serious cognitive-affective issues. It's our boy.

Tom, Trump is going to get us out of that shithole ....

True, but not president is going to do that other than in extremis. It would take down the global financial system. which assumes that the Fed acts as an international body as well as the central bank of the US.

Tom, Trump is going to get us out of that shithole ....,

That was his intention but his opposition in the deep state realized that they could avoid that if they convinced him that withdrawing would make him look weak — like Obama.

DJT has so many cognitive-affective issues, he's easy to roll.

One morning you’re going to wake up and Trump will be tweeting we’re out of there...

He’s not going to inherit any body else’s screwed up deal ....

If he isn't out soon, he is toast. The midterms are approaching and it's not looking good for the House GOP. The Dems are running on impeaching trump if they take it back, and Trump's base is livid at his perceived betrayal.

The US Treasury says otherwise:
