That's why we like him.

If you ever watched his rockumentary, he was a small child and his father was a merchant seaman in WW2... so when his father was at sea, his mom would just walk down to the ship's office on paydays and receive his pay to provision the family... so the one day she went down to get her husband's pay and they told her his ship was torpedoed by a German U-boat and there were no survivors... so there he would receive no pay for that day or any further have a nice day...

Crikey! That's terrible!

Read the lyrics to his song 'Mother':

You missed it Kaivey: Franko is trying to use stories about Water's childhood to paint him as biased.

But as usual Franko is talking out of his ass. Water's father was a communist and conscientious objector who drove an ambulance during the blitz.

Thanks, Noah.

And is it a biased position to be anti war. Matt talks about the Warrior class, which means 'might is right '. The warrior class thinks it's okay to steal another country's resources, but it's immoral, illegal, and murder. I don't think being anti war is a biased opinion.

The 'Warriors' are pirates and thieves who send other people to fight in their wars for them. They are hardly warriors.

Don't fall for Franko's trick.

Bias is immaterial to fact. What has Waters said that is false, Matt?

Matt Franko said...

Well then he is telling false stories because I watched a rockumentary on him (Pink Floyd) and he said that...

I’ll try to find it...

Here is another story:

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/roger-waters-fathers-death/

Says killed at Anzio....

Seems like part of his issues is he perhaps has been told different stories about his fathers death...

I’ll still try to find that sea story...

In any case the death of ones father in war could create a bias against war...

Matt Franko said...

“What has Waters said that is false, Matt?”

Maybe nothing... that is not my point... you always see propaganda around warfare...

It would only bother one if one was biased anti-war or was taking the opposite side in the warfare...

I assume you guys are just biased anti-war...

Anti-war isn't a "bias".

It is a moral, humanitarian, and philosophical principle that is clearly far beyond Franko's intellectual reach.

Here I copied this off a military forum, try to get waters to engage in this type of discussion... I say no way in hell he’s biased anti war:

“What do you think was Lee's biggest mistake at Gettysburg?

One could argue it was invading the North in the first place, but I'll say his biggest mistake was (surprise!) Pickett's Charge. Now it seems that Lee wasn't crazy, he had legitimate reasons for believing the attack would succeed (poor artillery support and underestimation of resistance on Cemetery Ridge surely didn't help). However, marching 12,000 troops across a mile of open ground with Union artillery firing on them from all over was just a poor idea in general. His army was exhausted and even if the initial charge had succeeded, there would have been only a few thousand troops on Cemetery Ridge at most. Meade could still send his reserve in to knock them right back off unless AP Hill's own reserve got up there in a hurry, which still may not have worked (goes back to Lee's underestimation of the Union forces and overestimation of his own strength).

As for other mistakes, I would think not ordering Ewell to take the heights on the first day turned out to be a big mistake. Also, choosing his plan for attack on the second day rather than moving his forces around to the south was a bad choice in retrospect. What do you guys think?“

Waters wouldn’t even finish reading this before he would say gtfo....
