Paul Craig Roberts — Privatization Is A Ramp For Corruption and Insouciance Is a Ramp for War

Devastating indictment of neoliberalism and neoconservatism by a former insider on the right that could have been written by Michael Hudson and other former insiders on the left. Oh, and he goes after Libertarians, too.

Privatization Is A Ramp For Corruption and Insouciance Is a Ramp for War
Paul Craig Roberts | former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration

PCR is having the time of his life. There's so much for him to chew on. His latest piece on the crisis in the Ukraine is worth a read.

When lifelong cranks get senile .... they finally get sane?

This doesn't sound like the PCR we've known. He's actually sounding logical.

Or maybe he had a "come to logic" moment?

Wonder if he'll ever catch on to fiat currency operations too?

Roger, don't be an insolent jerk, you don't have to stoop to this. PCR is one of the few with the guts to say what is really going on here, as opposed to most mealy-mouthed cowardly "liberals." Give the guy credit where credit is due. He's also 100% right on the Ukrainian issues, on the loss of civil liberties, and in short, on the truly crucial topics, in short, the de facto fascism in this country. OK, he's "out of paradigm". Whatever.

Geradld Celente is another one: "out of paradigm, and yes, he gets very excited. He's Italian. So what. On the crucial subjects he's on target. Take that nitwit, Barkley Rosser, for whom the Bundy situation is summarized by observing that legally they haven't a leg to stand on. Who cares! "The law is a idiot" as Dickens observed. What is really at stake is not government or "the law", but statism on steroids, fascism. This is what people feel in their guts. As Celente noted, banksters can steal 100's of billions and not a head rolls over the incredible control fraud, but just protest this on the street, or jaywalk, like that young girl, or graze some cattle on land some son of a bitch wants to "develop" and watch the militia beat hell out of everyone. I'll tell you who's "senile"--it's your average couch potato, all-consuming, tv addled, video-game-hypnotized, football watching, violence-loving, drone-bombing, witch-hunting, predatory, narcissistic, American "booboizie". In denial Amerika.

CrossTalk: Containment 2.0? (ft. Stephen Cohen & John Mearsheimer)

Personal note [From "The Vineyard of the Saker" website: I want to add something here. Mearsheimer and Cohen are the living proof that the caricature which a lot of non-US people have about Americans being arrogant, ignorant and stupid is fundamentally wrong. During the Cold War an entire generation of very savvy academics and analysts materialized who were refined, well educated and sophisticated thinkers with the ability to truly look ahead in a non-ideological fashion. I have had the pleasure and honor to study with Paul Nitze and I personally knew Admiral Elmo Zumwalt and I can attest that while not necessarily always sinless saints, these men were truly remarkable decision-makers who loved their country and who wanted to do what is right for it. Listening to Mearsheimer and Cohen I had a flashback to my conversation with Nitze who by the end of his life also had reached a certain wisdom and detachment which allowed him to see things from a higher perspective. I also hope that Steven Cohen will impress those who naively believe that all American Jews are sayanim or AIPAC/JINSA/ZOA agents as this is far from being the case. The USA is far more complex than a lot of non-Americans think and it should not be judged by the performance of clowns like Dubya, Obama or Biden.
