Alex Pfeiffer — Tillerson Says U.S. Will Defend Innocents Around The World

The Trump administration goes full-on liberal interventionist and assume the role of US as world's policeman as integral to American leadership.

Oh wait,
Spicer said a press briefing Monday, “The Trump doctrine is something that he articulated throughout the campaign, which is that America’s first. We are going to make sure that our national interests our protected, that we do what we can to make sure our interests both economically and national security are at the forefront.”
“We aren’t going to just become the world’s policemen running around the world,” Spicer added. “We have to have a clear and defined interest wherever we act, and it’s our national security first and foremost that has to deal with how we act.”
Can someone help me out. Who is in charge here, anyone?

Simple, Tom.

Morons.

With DJT as head clown, as he called Chucky Chuck Schumer.

Mike Pence pulling strings behind the scenes, waiting for DJT to screw up so badly.

Steve Bannon well on the way out at this point.

Since people love talking about this Deep State so much, what's the possibility that it's really Mike Pence doing everything he can to take full advantage of Trump's stupidity so he'll get impeached sooner than we think and he'd become the president? Just a thought.

Compared to Trump, Pence is a mastermind. All he has to do is stay out of the kitchen.

Exactly Bob. Pence is soft spoken and on the surface looks boring and unassuming, but I really think he's got way more strategy going on than DJT ever had from the getgo or ever. He should not be overlooked in all of this. He's like the guy that will give you a kiss on the forehead and say good night and all that nice stuff, but his kiss is chock-full of poison and you won't know what hit you until it's too late. DJT is probably too stupid to even understand if he's even being tricked by this guy.

Like I know the focus the other day was getting Jared Kushner fired, but I think he's just a fall guy and not a real player like people have made him out to be.

A July 15th, 2016 NYT article on the selection of Mike Pence:

Make of it what you will.

We are IN Syria Tom so if there are WMDs in that theatre it shouldn't be surprising that we would at least try to take them out....

Same thing for Korean Peninsula we are already there...

Like hitting the places they believed that chemicals were stored at the site of the strike. No evidence of anything turned up. So then the story changed to, we intentionally didn't target places chemicals were stored for fear of harming innocent people through atmospheric dispersion.

One layer of BS on another.

Do you suppose Trump read the Art of War?

Do you suppose Trump read the Art of War?

He recommends it, along with Machiavelli's The Prince.

Best leadership books according to Donald Trump

BTW, this accords pretty well with Scott Adams's analysis of Trump's m.o.

“We aren’t going to just become the world’s policemen running around the world,” Spicer added

But didn't Trump campaign on NOT being the world's policeman?

Btw, I had a hard time trying to figure out what Spicy was saying. Read those two paragraphs several times and still was confused. Anyone else here have a hard time understanding Spicy?

"Just become." I dunno greek, something about that part of the sentence makes me suspicious, but Spicer never made any sense to me either.
