You can see why Russia invaded, and why in many ways they had no choice. I hate war, so I'm anti this, but if Putin’s plan goes well, he may have headed off an even greater war. This world makes difficult choices.
When you run a economy in such a crappy fashion like Russia, you have to invade your neighbors to stay in power. With all of its resources it has a lower per capita GDP than almost all of Europe other than the countries screwed up by the Soviets. Even messed up Greece has almost twice the per capita GDP. Putin has been a gross failure.
