Within minutes of tapping Paul Ryan as his vice presidential nominee, presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney was distancing himself from the congressman's controversial budget, which includes steep cuts to government programs and changing Medicare into a voucher-like program.

The only thing moron Ryan has in his CV is his zealousness to proceed on a fools errand to reduce the deficit thru mindless spending controls.

This makes no sense. As Matt says, why would Romney pick him?
I doubt Romney will garner any meaningful home state advantage. With all the recall elections, Wisconsinites are pretty hip to the political topics of the day. They know who Paul Ryan is, and their minds are already made up.
The only thing Paul Ryan is known for is his controversial budget. And that in and of itself is what is going to energize a portion of the base that Romney needs energized. Do you really get pretend as though it doesn't exist? The TP is the most politically engaged and active group out there, and they are not this dumb.
Romney is going to have some explaining to do.
Right Trix this makes no sense as the other thing Ryan is known for is his obsession with Ayn Rand.
So Ryan = Deficit reduction via cuts + Ayn Rand love, this is all he represents...
Unless Tom is right and the anarcho-libertarian side of the GOP (Kochs, etc..) simply demanded representation on the ticket so Romney "threw them a bone" with Ryan here (at least not Ron or Rand Paul) but now is trying to claim that he (Romney) is "still his own man" type of thing...
It will be interesting to see if the Romney people require Ryan to now distance himself from his own "Ryan Budget" but Ryan will go rogue... this would be a real mess for the GOP...
