What about someone born with a disability? Are they responsible for their disability? This is like a slippery slope back into ancient Israel..

Do you think being born blind might have a significant effect on ones ability to be an "economic contributor" and all "productive" for society? Effectively "Lazy"????
Philosophical mumbo jumbo like this is probably how all of the "fire and brimstone" came in to corrupt Christendom... "you better make the correct freewill choices or you go to hell.... God will punish you in hell...", etc...
"better not be a lazy worker so our nation can get more mass measures of silver and gold imported in....." "better invent Eugenics so we can be more productive and get more silver and gold brought in...."

To be clear I am not asserting that Tim's post here is the "mumbo jumbo"... Tim to me is more than ably documenting the "mumbo jumbo"...

Matt, the "mumbo jumbo" is not really that complex or difficult to understand.
Most people seem to prefer to follow the Pied Piper rather than take responsibility for their own thinking.
We live in an opinion-based reality rather than reality itself, which is opaque to us.
Simply put it's the forest/trees metaphor.
