Mushrooms Being Put on the Left Libertarian Menu

With the recent spate of state laws being passed that de-criminalize the 'recreational' use of cannabis, left libertarians are now going to have to be in search of a new form of pharma the 'recreational' use of which is still against the law to get involved with;  it is starting to look like certain forms of mushrooms the ingestion of which can have intoxicating effects is what at least some of these people are going with for now.

Here is an article at the left libertarian AlterNet extolling the virtues of ingesting mushrooms (FD: I like mushrooms on my pizza and order this topping often) of the non-intoxicating type, which is the same as the articles you could read before the recent cannabis legalizations advocating about "industrial hemp" which was a form of the cannabis plant:
...medical researchers have proven how prescriptive diets have been used to minify health risks. One such functional food is mushrooms. There are currently 38,000 discovered and classified species of mushrooms that hold medicinal benefits.
This "legitimate mushroom" article follows up a previous article at left libertarian AlterNet that gets to the true heart of the matter; ie the ingestion of what are currently illegal pharmacological substances:
the association reports that 3 to 5 percent of the population is dealing with depression at any given time—and nearly half of these people are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.  [Ed: Probably from the cannabis ingestion in the first place but I digress...]
According to a new study, the solution could come to some in the form of “magic” mushrooms. [Ed: Yes of course it could!]
The study, published recently in the journal Biological Psychiatry, adds to the growing pile of research that suggests psilocybin—the bioactive ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms—may have positive effects on mental health.
A new form of emerging material association with (illegal) pharma from the libertarian left, here we can see a move away from cannabis as that form of pharma becomes legalized, and towards forms of intoxicating mushrooms that are currently illegal.

The libertarian right's material association with metals (guns/gold, etc) is reported on much more often and imo is just as strong as the libertarian left's material association with forms of (illegal) pharma.
