This Ranks Right Up There With Records Packaging "Breathe-In" & "Breathe-Out" Messages For Blondes

   (Commentary posted by Roger Erickson)

John Lounsbury: 'Some of the proposals are problematic but one definitely is not: That would establish a coupling of the "debt limit" to the appropriations passed by Congress.' :)
Uh ... was that coupling proposed by the tinfoil brigade?

One solution might be to close down Brookings, before they become the main reason no one answers SETI? It might be too late. The following quote nearly proves it.

"The debt ceiling should automatically be increased when a budget resolution, which accurately reflects the estimated debt limit, is approved by Congress and goes to the president for signature."

Please tell me the person who said that was drunk or senile. I can't stand to see our country run this way.

What do you call a brunette (MMTer) in a room full of blondes?
Invisible.

Duct tape can fix anything... except ductwork.

Roger,Your talents are wasted on this site because you are preaching to the converted. Could you spend time trying to convert Very Serious People? You’d have to use sentences with no more than three words and words with no more than one syllable, but I’m sure you can manage that.

Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain.

Le Pen gets it (MMT) although she has some loony idea on going back to gold standard and views may have changed since 2010.
The fact that this insane law has been passed is a testament to current foolishness in France.
From wiki:
She favours the repeal of the 1973 Pompidou-Giscard Law, which makes it illegal for France to borrow at zero or a low rate of interest from the Banque de France and forces the country to borrow at higher rate on the international financial markets. In her view, the national debt has grown steeply because of this law. She claimed that in 2010 France had already refunded 1.355 trillion euros of accrued interest on loans at a time when the national debt represented around 1.650 trillion euros.[113][119]

Ralph, you're the most serious person I know of. Can't be a total waste to correspond.

Yet contend we do, as 4.5 billion years of Earth history attest.

The only alternative is faster suicide, so the trickle-up pace of evolution is what we're stuck with.

Le Pen is an example of someone led out of a desert to water, who then initially suggests it for an enema instead of drinking the water.

Maybe she'll come around, if given more feedback and time. Anyone know how to get an audience with her?

Why would you want Le Pen when you have us?

Roger Erickson said...

She might understand the value of diversity

Peter Pan said...

Being a nationalist, she understands the value of having a scapegoat.

Wren-Lewis can invent any possible context he wants. Meanwhile, aggregates survive based on the tempo of recognizing the unpredictable but definable context they actually have.
