Sputnik — News Polls: Half of US 'Bothered' by Hacking, Want Electoral College Vote Delayed

It's working!
More than half of the Americans in two recent polls said they were disturbed by allegations of Russian hacking into the presidential race that ended last month and that they favored delaying the Electoral College vote scheduled for December 19 until it can be looked into.
An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll of 1,000 adults found that 43% of respondents were bothered a "great deal" by the purported Russian hacking and 12% were bothered "quite a bit." Nearly a quarter — 23% — aren't bothered at all by the accusations.

Among independents, it was 49%.
One can assume that the folks behind this are working madly to pull it off before the vote is finalized tomorrow. It's a the topic of the day on the Sunday talk shows.

McCain is calling for a "select committee," that is, one that has confirmation bias.

This just shows me how most of the public has a short-term memory and barely remember the last time this kind of propaganda was pulled (Iraq War WMDs cough cough).

I don't think there will be enough electors tomorrow to swing anything, but the hysteria and desperation keep growing. Even some people I thought were smarter seem to be falling in line, understanding how the United States does meddle in elections, but doesn't doubt the possibility Russia would do it too.

What I am most perturbed about is how much time is being wasted by the Democrats and even some Republicans trying to chase Russian ghosts when instead they could be coming up with a clear alternative vision to a lot of Trump's more reactionary policies. "Not Trump" seems to be all they have right now, and even though the Sanders wing of the party seems to be trying to come up with something different and tangible, I just haven't seen that reported enough in the news.

We probably won't either. The media has a habit of shutting Sanders out.

Cenk Uygur from The Young Turks jumps on board the "RUSSIA!" bandwagon.

Cenk is barely progressive at all. Pretty much centrist. Just an inch left of a huffpo kind of liberal (man, that has become such a terrible rag lately, hardly worth looking at anymore).

But not all is lost for tyt. Jimmy Dore and Steve Oh are straight shooters, have been right about almost everything, actual progressives. Along with Jordan and Emma doing actual journalism.

The American liberal class's reaction to the election has been one of the saddest most pathetic things I've ever seen. Like an old sick animal that should be put out of its misery. I expect that from the mainstream, but even people like sam seder and cliff schecter, who used to be actual progressives have not stopped whining. Even when reality comes crashing in they refuse to acknowledge it. But that probably makes me non-intersectional(the new identity politics buzzword) and sexist for saying that.

Chris Hedges put them out of their misery years ago, one book at a time.
