At the Defense Intelligence Agency, Lang was the Defense Intelligence Officer (DIO) for the Middle East, South Asia and counter-terrorism, and later, the first Director of the Defense Humint Service. A ruse is the only possible explanation. Bolton playing along with Trump to gain his confidence while directing deep state counter operations to sabatoge every move.

If so, he has done a good job fooling everyone so far, it appears.

You are right, though. I would not trust him at all. But I am pretty sure that DJT realizes that.

@ Tom Hickey: I see this overture to Russia as part of the Empire’s profound fear of China.

China has become so economically powerful (and China continues to grow in power) that Washington is now exploring the possibility of some kind of alliance with Russia.

Bolton himself has made a career of Russia-bashing, but now he has done an about-face, having personally met with Putin and setting the stage for a July 16 summit meeting between Trump and Putin in Helsinki.

The overtures to North Korea have likewise been about seeking to prevent nations from becoming part of a China-led bloc.
