As the United States and Europe embark on an increasingly hawkish policy towards China, Beijing has moved to welcome the formation of an alliance with Russia to counter NATO.
Speaking at the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party last month, Xi Jinping delivered what Western analysts are calling an "incendiary speech" in which he called for a military union with Russia that would render NATO "powerless" and "put an end to the imperialist desires of the West."
The harsh statements come at a time when both Beijing and Moscow find themselves vulnerable to an increasingly hawkish US foreign policy that has resulted in a series of massive war games on both countries’ doorstep and the placement of missile shields in strategic quadrants to limit the ability of both Russia and China to defend themselves if conflict were ever to ensue.
"The world is on the verge of radical change," said the increasingly frustrated Chinese President. "We see how the European Union is gradually collapsing, as is the US economy – it is all over for the new world order."Sputnik

My sense is that the pressure on HRC once sworn into office, to put China and Russia in their place is going to be unprecedented.
I agree Tom.
In many ways the MSM and politicians in the West have been preparing their locals for war, but, the war they are characterizing as being on the horizon, is nothing short of pure fantasy.
The MSM nor the politicians haven't to my knowledge informed their public that neither Russia nor China will blink.
Likewise they haven't made clear what the consequences to the world as we know it will be should the West/US be insane enough to cause war.
You ain't kidding!
Almost everyone in the MSM will die if there is a war. I'm trying to figure out how the herd instinct works. Peter Hitchins at the Daily Mail is doing good work in warning his readers about this. The Guardian is a waste of space, and is supposed to be in the left.
We will just have to hope Trump wins and he gets peace going with Putin, but be wants to take Assad and Iran out. Lets hope it just rhetoric. He's our only hope. If I can have a fantasy, hopefully he and his conservatives will remove the Neocons from power. They should be locked up.
From "All we are saying is give peace a chance"
to
"All we are saying is give being blown to pieces a chance"?
one doesn't even have to go into details to concur with China here;
4.5% of the world population (USA) simply cannot bully & rule the other 95.5%
that's not gonna happen, and only bad things will come of any such effort
What's happening is that our elites are going to throw their expendables (us) to the wolves. To them, it looks like a price worth paying as their last chance to keep ruling the world. (To them, the rest of homo sapiens matter even less.)
Afraid you are right, Roger. They will keep the game going as long as they can and then plan to bail to their pre-arranged retreats. What could go wrong with that plan?
not to worry though; Rand has the next war covered

What prearranged retreats? Those underground bunkers designed to survive a nuclear war? I'd go insane if I had to spend the rest of my life in one of those places.
Here's an article just today on the "panic rooms" of the rich.

The retreats are in faraway places. The Bush family owns 42,000 acres in Paraguay for example, close to a US military installation to boot to fly into in an emergency.
There are firms dedicated to building these, and other firms dedicated to providing security.
They aren't dumb. They can read the tea leaves.
I'm referring to the aftermath of a nuclear war. How many wealthy VIPs can expect to survive that outcome?
