"Death to the moderate Taliban!" —probably said by someone in ISIS-K

For the U.S., the Taliban’s treatment of women and political opponents has spurred calls for diplomatic isolation and financial sanctions. Yet that only risks weakening the Taliban and emboldening rival Islamic extremists, undermining Biden’s claim that the U.S. accomplished its mission of rooting out terrorism in Afghanistan.

At the same time, the Taliban face a dilemma: They want good relations with the international community to stabilize the country, but cooperating with the U.S. to fight Islamic State could spur a backlash that prompts more rank-and-file members to join the more violent extremist group.

It's hard being Taliban.

The Taliban navy....I can confirm that the punishment for not paddling one of those ships hard enough is having your arm amputated. Plus in naval warfare, the opposite side gets stoned (that's in the "having stones thrown at you" sense rather than in the "drinking too much alcohol sense" because of course alcohol is banned by the Taliban.

Also anyone caught singing a sea shanty gets their head chopped off because music is banned by the fun loving Taliban.

I found the photographs hilarious because they have all their weapons with them still.

In most navies, the only weapons sailors use is a bucket and mop.
