Manifesto of Appalled Economists

A paper written by a handful of French economists criticising the economic policies applied in the European Union to deal with the sovereign debt crisis that followed government bailouts of banks and other financial institutions in 2007 has become a manifesto supported by many worldwide.
The paper, titled ‘Manifesto of Appalled Economists’, was first published last summer by four French economists, including André Orléan, a leading European expert on the financial crisis.

Not yet MMT, but good points attacking neoliberal policy that is crashing the EZ.

It's hard to visit that paper and leave with any optimism. The gap between the prescriptions offered and the facts on the ground is an heroic amount of leadership and institution building--all to be done while the house is on fire.
