Alexrpt — US gets the war it has always wanted…begins bombing Assad forces

This latest US war is so simple. Remove Assad in order to remove Russia’s gas supplies to Europe. Once Assad is gone the US can put its very own, home grown dictator to oversee the construction of a Qatar gas pipeline to Europe.

What about NORDSTREAM?

Or just let ISIS run it.

Or maybe the Turks are symbolically rebuilding the Ottoman empire ;)

MofA predicted this a few days ago: NATO launches invasion of Syria.

The question is, how will Russia react? It might have been the Saker who predicted Russia would embed "advisors" with the Syrian troop, effectively drawing a red line in the sand, daring Obama to bomb Russian troops.

Remind me why we are doing this? Oh yeah, natural gas, and pipelines.

Double down on the stupidity of 'chaos strategy'!

The Qatar people probably dont trust Assad to maintain a square deal and security. ... he'll try to screw them....

You'd want at least 2 streams ... one from the Arabs and another from Russia.... looks like they have given up on the Ukraine incompetent people and are building Nordstream thru the Baltic into Germany....

So eventually you get two reliable sources and associated transit lines for redundancy. .. makes sense... energy is a critical resource

I think the recent phone calls between Putin and Obama were to discuss the new strategy and their cooperation along with the Saudis. Lavrov has been working the region tirelessly to come to an agreement. By all accounts Putin and Obama both have little affection for the others personally and professionally but the Russian position is becoming more tenable than a failed state run by daesh fighters. Assad is a Iranian ally but Iran has been cooperative so maybe Assad is less toxic... Of course the official statement would deny, but clearly Russia is pushing behind the scenes

While the US campaign against Assad is certainly illegal, to all his government 'democratically elected' is a bit of a stretch.
