“I've known him a long time,” Trump said “We don't agree on everything. In this case I think it's good. I want a diversity of opinion … He backed me very early in the campaign, I think the earliest. I think he was one of my original backers. He's a very, very talented man.”

More winning!!!

"Cokehead" Larry.

This guy used to snort at least a "down payment on house" up his nose every month.

Good news is that Trump has only mentioned the death penalty for drug dealers, not users. So Larry is safe for now ;)

Btw, I can never tell when Matt is being sarcastic.

Matt, do two exclamation marks indicate sarcasm?

Looks to me like Trump is sending a signal — "I don't listen to my advisers anyway, so what's the big deal if I reward an early supporter?

Tom, since Trump has delegated basically all his presidential powers to the military and the GOP establishment (let's face it, the Tax Plan was all McConnell and Ryan), what listening is required on his part?

I am curious to know what signal you think he's sending. Thanks.

Signal might be containing some static...

“Listening to advisors” is not the way business works...

There wouldn’t have been a tax plan without Trump... Trump delegated to Ryan and Mitch...

Trump is trying to delegate and he has no one qualified/competent to delegate to...

I'm still waiting for the static to clear, Matt :(

Tom who do you want him to listen to? The Atlantic Council ? PNAC? CRFB? Cato? AEI? Mercatus? Morons-R-Us?

Given Kudlow's advocacy of free trade, Trump is obviously not interesting in hearing about that. What else has Kudlow got? His track record is abysmal.

Kudlow has two things going for him. He' was an early supporter of Trump and he is a TV celeb like Trump. This is a reality show, remember? That's the signal.

Sadly, Tom, it is how you just described it.

Btw, Chris Cillizza of CNN got a lot of flack for saying the same thing in a column last week titled "Donald Trump is producing the greatest reality show ever," especially from the likes of a former CNN news host Soledad O'Brien.

I am not a fan of his but Chris Cillizza got that right for sure.

Too bazaar for words.

Pat Lang recently said that if feels like 1914 all over again. He's got that right, too.

This is turning out to be one cliffhanger of a show.

When DJT was elected we said it would be a reality show, but I don't think any of us expected anything on this level.

And Trump may be upped his game. There's talk now of Gen. Master being replaced by John Bolton.

Who suspected that DJT would morph into Darth Vader?

Trump's idea of running started with trading some delegates for a sweet deal. When he had most of the delegates that turned into a corporate model with Trump as CEO playing golf while a host of underlings does all the "work". It took a while for him to see that the "underlings" (neocon deep state) are the bosses, but once he did he became absolutely compliant. Thus Pompeo is now SoS and Bolton ("nobody would notice if the top 11 floors of the UN were missing") is moving up.

The really scary thing is the parallel to Germany in the 1930's when the industrialists were funding Hitler and building a massive war machine using a scapegoat for justification. That didn't end well ... for Germany.
