A big gun is just an excuse to spend even more arming up even more. Which is a primary reason for the incessant poking.

I remember listening to the news Radio 4 one morning when they quoted a Chinese diplomat who said that the only way you can talk to the US is down the barrel of a gun.

Russia hasn't privatised its defence industry and that's why it produces better weapons for far less bucks. We all know how the Western defence industry milks money out of the tax payer for elaborate projects that don't work.
