Sen. Bernie Sanders names MMT advisers

Bill Black, James K. Galbraith, and Stephanie Kelton — three in a group of ten, with several others having exposure to MMT. Not bad.

Excellent news! Sanders is one of my favorites!

As I mentioned at Warren's, Tim Canova is great person to have on there as well.

stiglitz and sachs egos may be the biggest impediment to any mmt traction there (def doves)

but it looks fortunately that sheer numbers are against the doves here for once

Sachs "got religion" after his advice to Russia blew the place up. And Stiglitz is already somewhat sympathetic to an MMT outcome, even if he doesn't seem to under the thinking behind it yet.

If S & S come aboard, that would be a big deal. Dean Baker is on the edge already. This would give a huge push in the field of economics.

Bernie Sanders has, of course, been on the right side or full employment with price stability, but he's been out of paradigm. If he comes out for MMT, that would strongly affect the progressive political environment, in which he is an elder statesman.

So this looks promising.

Tom Sachs has a new book out he's pumping saw him on Yahoo!... made some deficit dove type statements similar to Stiglitz Ive seen.

Black I saw a while back and he is 100% in paradigm (I was actually amazed).

Warren commented he thinks Randy Wray has been added... so the numbers look good on this panel.

Will move the ball forward, even if they marginalize Sanders (as usual), at least some high profile members of the academe will get some further exposure to MMT from the leaders... Resp,

I gave Jeffrey Sachs an MMT flyer last Saturday in Zuccotti Park. :-)

Sounds to me like the deficit doves are going to be outnumbered.

According to Bill Black, who's on this committee, Randy Wray is on the team, too!

Yes Randy Wray is one of the 17 named so far.

Also there is Robert Auerbach (not Marshall) who was a student of Abba Lerner at Roosevelt University, and also under Milton Friedman at Chicago. He is a faculty member of LBJ where Galbraith also teaches. So he should also be sympathetic to MMT ideas.

Sanders seems to be the only decent politician at Federal level...sadly though the 'socialist' label may put people off MMT.

But hej! It's national exposure...
