A U.S. commando died and three others were wounded a deadly dawn raid on the al Qaeda militant group in southern Yemen on Sunday, which was the first military operation authorized by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The U.S. military said 14 militants died in the attack on a powerful al Qaeda branch that has been a frequent target of U.S. drone strikes. Medics at the scene, however, said around 30 people, including 10 women and children, were killed....Reuters

Great headline. It's all Trump's fault now, lol.
As if he didn't inherit a global catastrophe from BO, who got it from W, who got it from Billy ...mAnd talk about fake news ... those poor starving 'terrorists' in Yeman, besieged by despotic Saudis and the Imperalist US.
Carter Doctrine, otherwise known as "imperialism."
The Saudis must be seething. Trump is targeting Saudi proxies in Yemen! More incoherent plodding by the new commander in chief...unless Trump somehow thinks that Al Qaeda are the Houthis...
It's all fake news. Al Qaeda is the universal boogeyman and excuse/justification for military misadventures.
Noah, it does sound like the sort of thing Trump would do. Rather than use a drone, which would have achieved the same thing, Trump's a macho kinda guy and has been watching Delta Force or some meatheaded nonsense. Imagine if the soldiers got captured! You can see the great negotiator in chief trying to flog the jihadis a weekend at a Florida resort. It won't take long before this macho militarism ends badly. Even pinko liberals like Carter get these Rambo delusions. Interestingly, Reagan, every rightwing militarist nationalist's hero, never did.
Great, another President doing more killing and fighting.
I always wondered what risk was serious enough that Obama would send in bombs or drones. With this action here, same, I wonder if they were actually planning an attack against the US or allies?
It seems like over time, Presidents get more comfortable killing.
Ryan: "I wonder if they were actually planning an attack against the US or allies?"
It's a Saudi jihad on Yemen, a country that's never even said boo to the US. So contrary to all his macho posturing, Trump has followed Obomba and entered the anti-Yemen jihad on behalf of Saudi Arabia, although there is some confusion as to what the US role now is: it has up until now been providing the firepower and intelligence to turn a moderate country into one ruled by jihadis. Trump's anti-terrorism is to help the Saudi wackos turn a stable country into an unstable one that looks like a bad version of Afghanistan and the killing fields of Cambodia rolled into one. What could go wrong?
