Classic...
Spending on the poor might well cause price inflation but de-privileging the banks would be massively deflationary since entirely private banks with entirely voluntary depositors would not be able to safely create nearly enough new deposits to replace existing deposits as they are repaid.
So one benefit of de-privileging the banks would be to allow increased fiat creation for the poor, e.g. a Citizen's Dividend, without price inflation.
