Dr Michael Greger - Will You Live Longer if You Take Vitamin D Supplements & How Much Should You Take?
The optimum daily dose of vitamin D, based on studies quoted by Dr Michael Greger, is around 2000iu a day, but 3000iu or 4000iu a day may be required depending on how overweight you are.
The science on Vitamin D is laughable in its inadequacy.
We don't really know the toxicity levels and we don't know the absorption rates.
You can tell there is no money in it.
Even the bottles forget to tell you that you have to take the supplements alongside something with sufficient fat in it or it will just pass straight through.
"Also, nearly impossible to be vitamin deficient of any letter of the alphabet in North America."
Studies show deficiency of Vat D is widespread - because sunscreen, the purging of fat from diets (and replacing it with sugar and starch) and the indoors sedentary lifestyle.
40% of the population in the US may be deficient. Those with natural built-in sunscreen more so.

"Even the bottles..."
Are these "bottles" regulated by any government agency? How can you be sure what is inside the "bottle"?
Aren't most, if not all, vitamin supplements made in China?
Regarding prescription drugs, I never buy generics because they usually come from China or India. Quality control issues.
Also, nearly impossible to be vitamin deficient of any letter of the alphabet in North America. Hell, we are all fat here :(
Take it in the morning.
