Elon Musk hails China ‘more responsible’ than US in bizarre pro-Beijing confession

ELON MUSK has praised China's Government for being "very responsive" to its people's needs and happiness, suggesting they could be "better" than the US in addressing them.

Mr Musk said he had a positive experience when talking to Chinese government officials during his visits to the country, and said they could “possibly” be “more responsible” to their people’s happiness than the US.

He added: “When I meet with Chinese government officials, they're always very concerned about this. Are people going to be happy about a thing? Is this going to actually serve the benefit of the people?

What's bizarre is the US thinks it has a just economic system so concerns about its citizens are considered redundant.

But anyone who has read the entire Bible should know this is absurd since:

1) The Bible prohibits collecting interest from fellow citizens (Deuteronomy 23:19-20) yet in the US usurers are privileged by government (e.g. deposit guarantees)!

2) Every Hebrew had some roughly equal agricultural land they could not permanently lose.

The US has done more in that it has allowed far more people in who are seeking a better life. I suspect that illegal immigrants to China would quickly be rounded up and sent home.

Andrew, I agree (I think). Deposit insurance is justified in that it ensures everyone has a very secure method of storing and transferring money. That's a basic human right.

In contrast, being able to earn interest on money which you've deposited at a bank, and which the bank has loaned out for you is very definitely not a basic human right. That is a COMMERCIAL transaction, and it is not the job of government to back commercial transactions unless there are overriding social considerations involved.

It follows that deposits should be split into two types: first, money deposited at the central bank, which earns no interest (a la CBDC). Second, deposits designed to earn interest. Those should not be protected gratis the taxpayer (which actually turns those so called deposits into something more like equity ). And what do you know? The latter split is what full reserve banking consists of.

I expand on that point in an aritcle I'm publishing in a day or two.

False equivalence, Ralph. China limits its own population's reproduction rate since it is already overpopulated relative to vital resources. Same with much of Asia. Consequently, they are not open to immigration.

The story of America is the story of the frontier, occupying lands stolen from the indigenous people. Now that the frontier days are over, many Americans want to pull in the welcome mat.

If you recall a big reason for Brexit was to shut the door, too.

All countries, including China, have an open door policy for knowledge workers though. For example, China imports thousands of engineers by offering better pay.

China also imports managers and some of them are the children of friends of mine. They get married their and have families but often send their kids to the US for college since that is a plus on one's resumé in China. In addition, there is a big demand for people fluent in English and Chinese.

Elon Musk is an engineer and entrepreneur. He is also a systems thinker. Guess why he thinks China is doing well in comparison with the US.
