Massachusetts activates national guard for school bus drivers

Why don’t they put the bus driver jobs in a job guarantee and then people will just show up to do that?  Or just include munnie for the school bus driving in the $3.5T infrastructure bill then people will magically show up?

DOT regulations create barriers to entry and make it difficult to hire drivers with less than 2 years commercial driving experience. Progressives, before they were aligned with mega tech industry, aligned with labor unions, like Teamsters. Teamsters controlled all transport. Now Dems are representing Amazon and Uber and other non-unionized shops that are trying to force school and metro-area bus systems to use tech company alternatives that have higher productivity and lower costs.

Jobs that can't be delayed or shelved are not suitable for the Job Guarantee. They have to be proper public sector jobs - backed by tax to reduce demand so that the peak of the business cycle will not cause the bus drivers schools need to move to the private sector.

At the peak of the business cycle, most Job Guarantee projects would be on hold due to a lack of labour.
