Which but for an accident of history from a cult with better PR and marketing is what we'd be calling it.
2024 needs to be the year when we get better PR and marketing.
Forget about educating people. Use MMT understanding to make money. Take care of yourself, and don't worry if the rest of the world wants to stay ignorant. Anyway, all the main MMT academics have zero charisma and can't sell it for anything. And why should it be sold in the first place? Forget it. Who cares? Frankly, I like that people choose to stay ignorant. Easier for me to make money.
The problem is with the basic academic practice (Platonism) that allows a thesis that is demonstrably and technically false (Monetarism) to still be taught..
It’s not just in the Economics department it’s in at least Biology and Theology too… the new one “Gender Studies” … perhaps others…
“Marketing” or PR isn’t going to solve it … you need major academic reforms…
iow “money printing causes inflation!” is same as “dude with dick and balls is a woman!” is same as “man evolved from the apes by random chance!” etc…
All these are Platonist theses that are being taught while each are technically false…
So the problem is with the academic practice/methodology that results in this…

MMT (Platonist thesis too) states the thesis “deficit too small!” which is technically false…
