Analyzing US media propaganda when the facts are known and can be compared with the media versions.
This is not actually unusual. I have personally been involved with several situations that were reported in the media. The reporting was obviously just made up. This was not propaganda either. The material had no propaganda value. Just poor reporting done on the cheap.

its revealing though how easy it would be to go to war against Iran... as far as getting the public behind it...
Chilling article, and you have read the article Tom posted, David M. Katz's — Neoliberal Capitalism, Its Crisis, and What Comes Next, then the US neoliberal capitalist system has no home market left to grow anymore because workers wages are so suppressed, and this leaves only government spending to make up for the shortfall and this will be mainly more military expenditure.
The US war machine has made mega huge profits for its over class over the years. And with the arms race we ended up with enough nuclear missiles to blow the world up thousands of times over and that was a very nice little earner indeed for them too. But who pays for it all, the tax payer, of course, which excludes the o-One Percent, because they have offshored all their wealth and hidden it away in tax havens and accountancy wangles? But aren't the Conservatives always moaning about our taxes being too high? Suckers!

You mean like Vietnam and Iraq?
Well, the public has to be lied to. Like everybody else, Americans don't want or like war. Washington and its media lapdogs have another agenda and they fill the public's heads with the most gargantuan propaganda. I'm amazed how restrained Americans are given the incessant propaganda. Somewhere deep down they just don't quite believe what they're hearing.
Perhaps it's a product of the American myth of rugged self-sufficiency, independence and distrust of government. Rather than doing something about Washington's criminality, the incoherent rage finds its way into tragicomic stupidity: a stupendously ignorant and narcissistic nativist who openly declares that he wants to fuck his own daughter somehow gets millions of voters backing him for the presidency and Texans start carrying guns in public.
In any case, Hilary, Jeb, Mario or Ted may yet rectify any frosty peace with Iran. They'll find that Iran assassinated Lincoln, JFK, Garfield and McKinley. And an absurd Secretary of State will go to the UN and present evidence that a lobotomised mule could see through. Then the US will have what it has so desperately wanted for so long - another Vietnam.
