This is a key battleground in the ongoing GOP civil war. Both the Trump wing and the Neo-con wing are vying for the most Evangelical votes. I was assuming Trump would tap Cruz for VP but not sure about that now...
Imo neo-cons cannot win a general without yuge Evangelical support while probably Trump could.
Fox's Rupert Murdoch praises Trump, says Cruz only appealing to white evangelical Christians https://t.co/eDEqScu1z9

If Cruz turns the "NYValues" fight into a discussion of Trump on abortion, Cruz wins. Did he intend this all along? https://t.co/kF2AkpkWab

Very important piece from @McCormackJohn.
"Would Donald Trump Be a Pro-Abortion President?"
Spoiler alert: Probably.

Life begins in the womb. The Bible says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)

So they have the abortion issued pretty well driven in as an attempted wedge....don't be surprised if the gay issue is brought up next:
The US Episcopal Church has received a major scolding. I hope they will turn back to follow what God’s Word says https://t.co/RpA4t8N9OM

At one point, recently, I thought the whole lot might go up in smoke. I was reading some pretty scary stuff om the internet about the shooting down of the Russian jet by the Turks. But Paul Craig Roberts was on the radio (podcast) saying that the bankers wouldn't let the Neocons do it, as they have too much to lose. Well, they own most of the world, so hopefully they won't let the Neocons blow it to bits.
Republicans will vote for whoever Fox tells them to vote for. Where else they gonna go? Remember, most people don't *for* a candidate, they vote *against* an opponent they view as frightening.
And no, Republicans will not stay home because Democrats have chosen to campaign hard on guns and immigration, which will energize the Republican base far more than the Democratic base (dumb move by Democrats, they never learn).
And no, Republicans won't vote for Bernie, even if they sympathize with him on some economic issues, because Bernie has chosen to be anti-gun and pro-immigrant. If Bernie had simply stuck to his populist message then he might have had a chance of pulling in working class Republican votes.
If the economy is still going downhill come November then Republicans will have an advantage no matter which of their morons gets the nomination.
As I see it, Trump doesn't stand for anything other than Trump so he'll say whatever it takes to win the nomination and then say whatever it takes to win the general election. After the convention the Republican party will roll out their attack ads against the Democratic nominee, and attack ads do work. Bernie has gotten off easy so far, that will change if he gets the nomination and the attack ads start running. Bernie is vulnerable on guns, immigration, and Medicare.
