The geniuses are now fooling with the grain supply to this nation of 90 million. They screw this up and it will make the current refugee crisis look like nothing. It would be interesting to know in what currency these deals have to be settled in.

While shortages of wheat in Egypt have recently been reported. Note the neo-con (Frum) interest.
This still blows my mind. The only context I have for Egypt and grain is as a Pax Romana breadbasket https://t.co/0wZdAuZDk2— Кельвін (@mrchan) February 3, 2016

Matt the whole MENA is a demographic bomb abotu to blow up, we ain't seen nothing yet...
As European I'm reaaaaally scared about what can happen.
You should have mentioned what in the long run will be the most destructive “deal” the Saudi royal family did to pacify their subjects: because a large number of children is a huge status symbol in Arabia, for men but also for women, the Saudi royal family have been heavily subsidizing fertility.
This has created a fantastic population explosion that has required spending ever more oil money and oil on food imports and especially on the water supply.
If you think the problems with Arabia are bad now, try to imagine what will happen when oil dwindles and Arabia can no longer import food or power their water desalination plans which allow a population of 25-30 millions to live in a desert with a carrying capacity of perhaps 5-7 millions. If you look at the graph it is telling:

When Arabia runs out of food and especially of water the ISIL troubles and the syrian refugee problem will look like the good old times.
It's not Egypt to look at, its the Saudis.
Egypt is a larger country, with 82 million people. Potentially bigger refugee problem than SA.
It's not for lack of food that people in certain areas starve. It's a trade and distribution issue.
