John Whitesides — Supporters to Trump: break campaign promises at your peril

After a presidential race fueled by brash but constantly shifting policy proposals, Trump's millions of followers -- from social conservative activists to struggling blue-collar workers to hardline militant groups -- say if he does anything less than take a wrecking ball to business-as-usual Washington, they will be disappointed.…
The ball is in the GOP's court with control of the presidency, both branches of Congress, the majority of  state governors, and the majority of state legislatures, as well as the ability to structure the judiciary.

Now the time for excuses is over. It's a make it or break it moment for the political right in the US.

Incidentally, the Interstate 80 that runs through Iowa City and close to the University of Iowa was temporarily shut down yesterday by protestors.

Young people really don't like what they perceive as their prospects and are finally pulling their eyeballs away from their gadgets and taking to the streets.

Tumultuous times.
