This is a serious problem that is likely to get worse, resulting in supply side inflation globally and food shortages in the developing world, sparking unrest.

Most usable farmland is in use, and if you want to restore ecological systems it may be best to reduce some (especially along streams and rivers) another option is needed.

Research and a few start-ups have started, but a lot more resources need to be used for Vertical Farming.
