This is nothing more than a smear job. It appears to be part of an organized effort by officials with ties to the Obama Administration hell bent on destroying the Trump Presidency. I do not know if Trump is up to the task of beating these folks back. It is nothing short of a coup attempt. No Quarter

"Russia" is the birther issue for Dems.
I don't care if anyone met with officials from Australia, Mexico, Russia, UK... they aren't enemies, even if they discussed sensitive topics, so what. It's just not an issue. If anyone in the military or intelligence is being subversive or treasonous, that's an easy problem to solve at even the highest ranks...
So far there is no report, even anonymous that Flynn or anyone did anything illegal. It all a big smear campaign to maintain the Deep State in control of the president. Flynn had to go because he was positioned between the US intelligence services and DJT.
Flynn was in intel previously but DIA, which is military. He actively opposed CIA operations with AQ and ISIS. For that Obama fired him.
Flynn was in a position to isolate DJT from being manipulate by US intel. Simple as that.
Now DJT has no firewall and can run by US intel, which was their objective.
As long as DJT follows the agenda and leaves the intel services along, they will leave him alone. If not, they will break him further.
Pepe Escobar believes differently. Flynn was more of a liability than an asset.
Ryan, I agree. What I don't get is why did Flynn go to the trouble of lying, even making a fool of the VP?
Pepe Escobar believes differently. Flynn was more of a liability than an asset.
That says nothin more than Flynn was let go.
The point is that DJT now has no firewall between his ears and the intelligence people briefing him. Flynn was that firewall.
Now Trump has to trust his instincts and also realize that if he bucks the agenda, he exposes himself.
That would change if he picks someone who knows the intelligence community well and is not in their pocket.
So far no one is in sight.
The whole putting Iran on notice would've doomed détente with Russia.
Who is KT McFarland?
Flynn was only relevant wrt to the intel services. Otherwise he was mostly a liability. It's nonsense to think that Flynn was Russia-friendly. He just didn't think that Russia is the highest priority, the way most of the others do like Mattis, who think that Russia is the number one adversary of the US.
I am going to go out on a limb and speculate that this was the result of a palace power struggle between the Bannon and Pence wings. I think that Pence won this round in convincing Trump that Flynn had to go because he was not forthright with Pence. Pence will be gunning for Bannon next. Pence represents the GOP establishment, specifically the Christian dominionist wing. Bannon is a dominionist, too, but he is also a populist.

She has experience in defense intelligence like Flynn and is associated with the Kissinger wing of foreign policy.
Speculation was that she could be appointed in place of Flynn but now it looks like she is out too.
Basically, the US intelligence services seem to be purging defense intel from close contact with DJT since the military is at odds with the agency of the US intelligence services over using terrorists as proxies.
Now I am reading about Vice Admiral Robert Harward as a possible replacement. Former Navy SEAL and "canoe" maker.
Hayward is the Establishment's dream. As a retired flag officer, he is presently employed by Lockheed Martin. Go figure. This is a gift to the MIC.
Bannon is a dominionist? I thought he was Roman Catholic.
Is there a chance that Trump will rehire Flynn?
Notice that I spelled* "dominionist" with a small "d" to indicate a general use of the terms rather than a specific one. Dominionism in general advocates for Christian nationalism but not Christian theocracy or Mosaic law taken literally. "Dominionism" with a capital "d" is often associated with Christian Reconstructionism, but this is only one aspect of dominionism in general.
Dominionism in general is an aspect of traditionalism in general. Traditionalism is about cultural purity. Nations are viewed not only in terms of "blood and soil," but also longstanding traditional that characterizes the national culture. In this sense both Russia and America were founded as Christian nations, and there are parallels between American and Russian traditionalism.
Dominionism is usually regarded as an American political POV, whereas traditionalism is shared across the Christian world. Alexander Dugin is a traditionalist but not an American dominionist. His traditionalism has influenced some American dominionism. Dugin holds that the four great political POVs of modernity are Liberalism, Communism, Fascism and Traditionalism, with Traditionalism the oldest. He views Fascism and Communism as essentially defunct, leaving the political dialectic to Liberalism v. Traditionalism. He holds that Traditionalism will triumph in the end, since Liberalism is degenerate, lacking any solid foundation.
These people believe generally that Western liberalism has lost the plot and descended into degeneracy in the name of liberties and rights based on a false idea of equality.
I would say that Bannon and Pence are in agreement with much of that analysis, uniting the alt right with conservatism even though they disagree on other matters.
*Or "spelt" if you are not using American English.
Is there a chance that Trump will rehire Flynn?
Unlikely rehire, but DJT keeps a stable of operatives in the background, like Roger Stone, so Flynn may take his place there.
Appoint Bannon. He he.
