An economics, investment, trading and policy blog with a focus on Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). We seek the truth, avoid the mainstream and are virulently anti-neoliberalism.
Der Spiegel is comparable to the US corporate media — elitist.
This affront, and affront it is, says a lot about what the German elite is thinking.
Marine LePen just criticized Macron as naive and simpleminded for supposing he could influence Trump while opposing him.
The European leadership is now in a bind. If they don't oppose Trump's Iran policy and trade war against them, voters will notice, and if they do, the Trump administration is taking names.
TOM HICKEY WRITES: “Marine LePen just criticized Macron as naive and simpleminded for supposing he could influence Trump while opposing him.”
Good observation. In late April, Macron visited Trump in the White House and flattered the Orange One, while telling wondrous tales of the days when France brutally ruled and occupied Syria and Lebanon (up to April 1946). Macron bowed to Trump, and said he wanted France to rule Syria and Lebanon again, with Trump’s help.
Afterward the two neoliberals walked outside and planted an oak tree on the White House lawn as the cameras rolled. The tree was a gift from Macron, signifying his fondness and his friendship with the Orange Orangutan.
When the Orangutan reneged on the Iran deal, Macron indirectly called Trump an a**hole. So Trump had the oak tree ripped out of the ground and disposed of in the middle of the night.
The world is ruled by childish morons.

Yes. Europe grovels to the USA regarding Libya, Russia, and Syria, but Europe wants to keep its business ties with Iran. Israel is laughing at the show.
