If we could have wasted resources in the Far North, we would have... instead, we voted Stephen Harper and his conservative party out of power.
Northern Sea Route may be good for commerce, but is useless geostrategically. No point in militarizing the Arctic unless the intention is to exploit oil reserves. Even that type of gold rush would likely be divvied up peacefully.
Ridiculous Russian nationalist nonsense. They are welcome to parade around in that inhospitable region.
