An economics, investment, trading and policy blog with a focus on Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). We seek the truth, avoid the mainstream and are virulently anti-neoliberalism.
Just because STEM people can use the abstractions in wave theory which includes the abstractions of period T and frequency 1/T and the associated electricity and electromagnetism towards our purposes doesn’t mean that light is speeding thru outer space like a rocket ship…
This is the same thing the monetarist morons do with their “money is real!” BS..
Well the general topic is light, so I'll just add that you should not expose your roasted coffee beans to direct light -- in other words, no roasted coffee beans in glass jars on your kitchen counter.
Still, you know, I just had another sub-par cup of coffee this morning. What a lousy way to start your day :( So, that's it for me. I'm getting myself a home coffee roaster and roasting my own coffee. No more stale/dead coffee, no siree bob.
I remember I think it was Ralph said one time here somebody was “taking the piss” … I thought he meant somebody was urinating..
We don’t have that figurative phrase over here… so you have to take it literally…. same with abstractions if you don’t understand them you have to think they are real… “money” is real… period and frequency are real… etc…
I'd hate to trace my ancestry all the way back to my "great, great...great grandfather" only to find out that he took part in the Fourth Crusade (1204 A.D.). That would be a bummer... finding out you have Latin blood :(

Tell the truth now -- didn't anyone else here google the word "reification."?
I've come across it a number of times, but I had forgotten what it means as it's not used very often.

That somebody was piss proud.
I should have said that that somebody was taking the piss on someone he thought was piss proud :)

Take the piss out of Psaki... if you want to pronounce her name correctly.
[off topic]
I recently commented about Candida auris on a previous article about fungi. It looks like it's here. Here are a couple of links:
Outbreaks of Untreatable, Drug-Resistant Fungus Spread in 2 Cities
REVEALED: 'Superbug' fungus resistant to major drugs is found spreading in two hospitals in Dallas and a nursing home in Washington, DC
Not to piss on your comment above, but, for the record, "Psaki" is the feminine form of "Psakis." Her father is Greek-Amerrican.
So your great great great ….. great grandfather is eating you?!?!?!
