This is the same as “the coin!” thing where you have a 1917 law imposing debt ceiling then you have some other later law on unlimited coin proofs or some shit and then lawyer Carlos turns it into a dialogic argument about which one of the conflicting laws we should obey…

The trouble with natural immunity is that you have to take a higher risk death to get it.
Whereas if you take the vaccine first to lower your risk of death, then acquiring natural immunity becomes less risky.
It's not an either/or argument. For this to end enough people have to catch the disease for herd immunity to develop - because we don't have a fully sterilising vaccine.
The rational approach would be to push the vaccine as wide as possible, and then three weeks later have Covid parties so you catch the thing at the point of maximum vaccine protection.
Unfortunatley humans aren't rational.
US health authorities want you to get the vaccine even though you've already acquired natural immunity. Unlike other jurisdictions, they do not recognize natural immunity vis a vis their passport system.
Well he as a trained Medical Doctor has no training in Finance and Accounting Science (neither does his famous father) so I would tell them both to butt out of those matters just like he’s telling unqualified Becerra to butt out of medical matters…

'Hybrid immunity': Why people who had Covid should still get vaccinated
“There really is this dramatic increase in immunity in people who’ve previously been infected if they get at least one dose of vaccine,” said Shane Crotty, a professor of immunology at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology in California.
“Against some of the most concerning variants, it’s literally 100 times better levels of antibodies after vaccination compared to before for somebody with natural immunity,” Crotty said. “That’s not a small change.”
In a study posted to the preprint server BioRxiv, researchers at Rockefeller University in New York City looked at how different types of immunity would protect against potential variants. (Studies posted to preprint servers have not been peer-reviewed.) To do so, they designed a modified version of the coronavirus spike protein with 20 naturally occurring mutations to test how antibodies would work against it.
These modified spike proteins were tested in lab dishes against antibodies from people who had recovered from Covid-19, from those who had been vaccinated and from those who had hybrid immunity. The spike proteins were able to evade the antibodies from the first two groups, but not antibodies from people with hybrid immunity.
Another study, from researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, found among those who had been previously infected, vaccination reduced the risk of reinfection by more than twofold, compared to natural infection alone.
My two cents worth...
With natural immunity, your body remembers some part of a virus, which might change with the next variant. With vaccines, they try to target those parts of the virus which don't change or don't change by much, like the spike protein.
