I try to virtue signal by riding my bicycle, but all these Putin lovers here in Canada keep driving their huge gas-sucking pickup trucks.

You all should really check out yesterday's video from Military Summary. He did a fascinating breakdown of Russian force structure, where they're concentrated at, how much front line there is, how much territory each btg has to control, why too many troops is also bad etc. He even gets into the blood supply. Without blood available, your losses go up.

The Lysychansk front is about collapse for the Ukrainians, and any new front line the Ukrainians establish will be shorter, freeing up about 40 Russian btg's, ~35,000 soldiers, to go elsewhere and start a new offensive.

I have no idea who this guy is, I think he's from Belarus, but he seems to me to know what he's talking about. Must be some sort of current or former military professional.

It is now appropriate for Washington to consider shifting its focus from providing blanket military support to one that prioritizes seeking a negotiated settlement. - Lt. Col. Daniel Davis

Not until the supply of Ukrainian males between the ages of 18-60 has been exhausted.

Then, and only then, may you forward that memo to Kiev.

It's people like this who are ruining the environment...

Ride a Bike, Ruin the Environment

Things that on the surface appear to be environmentally sound may not be after thorough analysis. The so-called life cycle costs of an intervention may turn a winner into a loser. A debate currently rages over whether adding ethanol to gas actually saves energy.

Now comes the disturbing news that bicycle riding may be an environmental loser. According to a paper authored by professor Karl T. Ulrich of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, there is an immediate energy savings by bicycle riding, since a cyclist is between six and nine times more energy efficient than a single occupant automobile. But Ulrich calculates that cyclists increase their longevity by 10.6 days for every year of cycling. And by living longer, they also stand to consume more energy over their lifetimes. Therefore, cyclists harm the environment more than they help it.

Ulrich acknowledges the paradoxical nature of his argument. "As a society, we value longevity more than long-term environmental impact," he writes. "If we did not, we might provide incentives for risky behaviors such as smoking, drug abuse and driving without seat belts."

That might be an enticing idea for the beleaguered tobacco industry. "Smoke Marlboros and Save the Environment."

Also, walking is worse than driving.

Why Walking to Work Can be More Polluting Than Driving to Work

Which is more polluting—driving a mile to work or walking that mile? The easy answer is, of course, driving. Cars have tailpipes; people don’t. Far more energy is needed to push a 3,000-pound car along the road than is needed to move a 150- to 250-pound body along a sidewalk. Walking seems like the green thing to do.

But appearances can be deceiving, making easy answers dead wrong. That’s the case here when the calories expended in walking are replaced.

If sacrificing the environment is the only way for me not to give Putin my money, it's a price I'm willing to pay.

You can't give Putin any money. He uses Roubles and you don't have any.

The Putin Price Hike is a thing. Get with the program, or be branded a traitor.
