Qian Ruisha — Anti-ship rocket 'included in drills'

Shao Yongling, a professor of military strategy at the PLA Rocket Force Command College in Wuhan, Hubei province, said the DF-21D and DF-26 - which also made its debut at the parade - are probably the only two ballistic missiles capable of sinking aircraft carriers.
Western military experts were speculating that this was the case. This confirms it. The US will view it as a huge escalation.

Where's the finishing line of this 'arms race'?

Well, Bob,
In 3.5 billion years of life on planet earth .... there's been no finish line yet.

There apparently isn't one.

Only the evolution of ever more checks & balances.

Look at it this way. There is no point of sustainability in the natural world, that is not another step on a dynamic equilibrium path, hemmed in by multiple, conflicting forces.

Does that help? :)

So nuclear annihilation would be... a check and (re)balance?

barely noticed by other species; especially protists & bacteria

google "animals of Chernobyl"

plus, if humans died off completely, the bacteria living a mile deep in caves and crevasses wouldn't even know about it, one way or another
