Ecns — China needs 110,000 more kindergartens by 2021

With the start this year of China's "two-child policy", it's estimated that the country will need nearly 110,000 more kindergartens by the year 2021.
Compared with 209,900 kindergartens across China in 2014, it's estimated that about 319,500 kindergartens will be needed by 2021.
In addition, nearly 2 million teachers and 1.37 million child-care workers need to be added to the preschool education sector in the same period.
According to a report published in "Studies in Early Childhood Education" magazine, the "two-child policy" will begin to affect the pre-school education sector in 2019 with the number of children eligible for preschool education reaching a peak in 2021- about 66 million children being eligible for preschool education, and 58 million of them going to kindergartens.
The number will begin to decrease year by year after 2021, with an estimated 42 million children eligible for preschool education by 2035….
Planning ahead.

Putler takes Estonia. PM Resigns, so much for those British long range missiles that were going to be installed. I suppose if the UK hadn't promised Missiles, Putler wouldn't have overthrown the govt. *sigh*

Population projections already account for the 2 child policy. The one child charts were obviously, much, much worse. Maybe a 3 child policy could make China grow again, I wonder how many kindergartens that would take?

Could have a 2.5 child policy, but some parents might take that literally.

Yes let's all have more children: that'll ensure global warming gets totally out of control. End of the human race.

And btw fyi its now 'climate change' or just plain 'climate!' not 'global warming' anymore...

So we should just increase population 7 times over the period of the next century just like from XIX to XXI century? Thank God women are not on board with that.

Is the best we can do relying on Ponzi schemes to "grow the economy!!!"? (Who cares about "growth", are we perpetual childs who want to "grow"?) That would be beyond stupid, but goes with the trend.

Better idea is just to renominate the base of the currency yearly so all people obsessed with large numbers can be happy. Just make it a f(n) = n² over a year a period, so everyone can see that big nominal growth and feel fuzzy and warm inside. In a few years when numbers are just "too large" we can change the renomination function to a logarithmic one, although people could get depressed because seeing diminishing "smaller!" numbers, so maybe not a good idea.

The problem is that capitalism depends on growth not only to recapture investment but also to continue eliciting investment. As the rate of profit falls, risk appetite diminishes and rent-seeking increases. This is now affecting the developed world. The response has been to increase private debt to fund sales, which is unsustainable, and to use low interest rates to increase the market value of assets, also unsustainable.

The previous ploy was colonialism, but that is out of fashion. Now neo-colonialism is in. Capitalism still has a way to go in the emerging world, but for capital of the developed world, that means net-colonizing the emerging world. This is now in progress.

After that, capitalism will have run its course and the next system will emerge through adaptation. Basically what Marx predicted.
