Somehow they probably thought he wasn't serious about the temp ban. Down means up, and up means down now. People losing the plot like crazy this year and again, didn't expect the left to sink to that level but here we are.

Well, guys, I'm sure the "loonie left" believes in the phenomenon of gravity just like the Wall Street bankers do, but that does not mean they're in cahoots ... does it? ;)

As for this ban, it's interesting to see which countries it leaves out -- countries that are known sponsors of terrorism such as Turkey, UAE, and Saudi Arabia are NOT on the ban list. I don't know why this is the case. Really, doggonit, I don't know... ;)

PS: You know, occasionally, when our golden doodle is feeling down a bit (it happens), we throw him a nice juicy bone .... and it makes him happy :)

lastgreek, well said. It must also be said that the people who support the ban have zero interest in stopping terrorism. They're interested in macho posturing. We know this because terrorism experts can always be heard demurring or complaining that they are never listened to, and a good deal of what passes for anti-terrorism is political grandstanding.

The only thing I would add is that those who are now protesting didn't oppose similar measures by Obomba, although in their defence they are also responding to a new tone of febrile bigotry which is being intentionally ramped up by the bigot in chief; and those who support the ban showed no support for Obomba's similar policies, but then he was quite obviously a fifth columnist being a Kenyan Muslim and black. Trump's a bigot and an obvious racist, and many of the people who voted for him are bigots, but by no means all or even a majority, and when asked to denounce KKK endorsement Trump claimed he didn't know who they were blah blah blah. Trump is, after all, the man who for YEARS called into question Obomba's citizenship. The only thing that gets in the way of his racism is making money. Hence no doubt his macho posturing while turning a blind eye to the Saudis, the source of practically all the terrorism in the world.

The banks probably make a lot of munnie off of the USD transfers made by the foreign people...

So they are against any immigration policy like this...

Do we call them the Loonie Left because they'd rather be in Canada with Trudeau?

"I'm sure the "loonie left" believes in the phenomenon of gravity"

Yes but try to get them to explain it...

It's very tiny business, coming as it would be from low wage and medium wage earners, not the kind of business Goldman and JP are usually worried about. So it's more like Wall Street putting Trump on notice that they're going to fight him to the bitter end. It's the business equivalent of Trump's politics: a PR stunt that is defended for more important reasons. In Trump's case he wants to engender a climate of librul paedophiles wanting to teach your kids about sex toys, and in Wall Street's case they want this administration to know that the big moneyed interests want him to play nice like all previous administrations.

The big oil money from the jihadi terror states like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain is just fine by Trump and the banksters. The low wage earner who wants to feed his family in Yemen is a "bad dude". Obviously, all of this has nothing to do with "terrorism".

They are under a lot of pressure they called in a B-52 strike the other day and then a team did a strike in Yemen the other day and Iraq is making progress in Mosul...

So some may get the idea to run with this added pressure Trump is applying... so you have to shut down the flow from those 3 places at least while the pressure is increased...
