Richard Pollock — How the Nation’s Spooks Played the Game ‘Kill Mike Flynn’

National Security Advisor Gen. Michael T. Flynn (ret.) — who resigned Monday — was the victim of a “hit job” launched by intelligence operatives, Obama government holdovers and former Obama national security officials, according to former intelligence officials who spoke with The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.
The talk within the tight-knit community of retired intelligence officers was that Flynn’s sacking was a result of intelligence insiders at the CIA, NSA and National Security Council using a sophisticated “disinformation campaign” to create a crisis atmosphere. The former intel officers say the tactics hurled against Flynn over the last few months were the type of high profile hard-ball accusations previously reserved for top figures in enemy states, not for White House officials.
“This was a hit job,” charged retired Col. James Williamson, a 32-year Special Forces veteran who coordinated his operations with the intelligence community.
Noting the Obama administration first tried to silence Flynn in 2014 when the former president fired him as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Williamson called Monday’s resignation, “stage Two of ‘Kill Mike Flynn.”

If Flynn had been forthright, there would be no scandal -- ergo, no story. Christopher Columbus! why did he lie? There wasn't any reason to lie. It was no big deal communicating with the Russian ambassador. If anything, it was commendable.

Tom, I am just going to drop this tweet here. Of all of Trump's cabinet picks, this is the guy I despised the most (Mnuchin, of course, a very close second):

Sen. Susan Collins ‏@SenatorCollins
After careful consideration, I have decided to oppose the confirmation of Scott Pruitt for EPA Administrator

Right, his undoing was being less than forthright with Pence, which resulted in embarrassment to Pence. He lost Trump's trust because of his poor judgement.

But the spooks would still have been after him and would have tried to get him on something else.

I'm not thrilled with Trump policy, I don't like social policy, trickle down economics, deficit worries all sorts of disagreement. Didn't really like Obama either with elitist economic policy and war mongering.

But overthrowing a President would set quite a precedent. That would be the end of the USA, it would be instant civil war. I've no doubt tens of millions would probably take up arms and military would be divided.

Can we Canadians have first dibs on Florida? Let me tell you, I can put up with the winter months of Dec. and Jan. but February just sucks the bag. Plus, it would be nice to have a warm port all-year-round on the east coast? ;)

And, I don't see the Republicans going along with impeachment since Trump has basically given them everything.

Can we trade Victoria Island for Florida?

"...first dibs on Florida?"

As long as I get New Mexico or as a second place prize Arizona. The scenery is stunning and the weather is damn fine all year round, and none of those hurricanes Florida is prone to. If I won the lottery, I'd be on the fist plane to Santa Fe, New Mexico, with a few detours during the year to New Orleans.

Sorry John, I have dibs on Arizona. MRW can confirm this. You're welcome to Ellesmere Island as compensation; it has excellent scenery and no crowds.

No need for Civil war. Just peel off the west coast and the northeast and add them too Canada ... the Midwest would be wise to join too, but you never know. The Bible Belt, southeast and the south would be left as the new United Right to Work States of America. Good luck suckers!

Oops ... add them *to* Canada ...
