Finland joining NATO is huge.
There is absolutely no way Russia will allow it. Never in a million years.
Only question is will they invade before they join or after they join?

Turkey, of course, threatens to veto Finland, Sweden from joining NATO. No surprise because these two countries are considered by Turkey of being havens for "terrorist" Kurdish organizations.
Also, Turkey doesn't want a repeat of past NATO mistakes such as letting Greece become a member. With Greece a NATO member, it's become a bit of a hindrance in stealing more land from Greece. Turks are still livid about the Greece-France defense pact.
And the Turkish threat has the added benefit of more military freebies from the US government.
As for Russia, the military leadership needs to understand that military food rations and vodka don't mix.

Russian academic Vitaly Naumkin speaking in perfect Arabic was chosen to send the message that Russia is willing to help Syria retake the Golan Heights, as is their right to do under international law. Russian is going to do to Israel by way of Syria what the US and Europe is doing to Russia by way of Ukraine.

The PAM liquidity model is calling for downside until May 17th, and in previous years we have seen the SPX go down into monthly OEX before reversing. Note, Dec 2018 and March 2020 OEX reversals had the market bottom into OEX then reverse for a new bull market run, but both of those happened with the Fed making a bullish pivot. Without a bullish pivot we are left with just a bounce off a major support level and then another down trend as forecast by this PAM model:
