Pepe Escobar — American dreaming, from G1 to Bilderberg

The bottom line is that these three mega-deals – TTP, TTIP and TiSA – are the ultimate template of what could be politely described as global corporate governance, a Bilderberg wet dream. The losers: nation-states, and the very concept of Western democracy. The winners: mega-corporations.
Julian Assange, in a statement, succinctly nailed it “It is a mistake to think of the TPP as a single treaty. In reality there are three conjoined mega-agreements, the TiSA, the TPP and the TTIP, all of which strategically assemble into a grand unified treaty, partitioning the world into the West versus the rest. This 'Great Treaty' is described by the Pentagon as the economic core to the US military's 'Asia Pivot.' The architects are aiming no lower than the arc of history. The Great Treaty is taking shape in complete secrecy, because along with its undebated geostrategic ambitions it locks into place an aggressive new form of transnational corporatism for which there is little public support."....
Now for the counterpunch. As the show in the Bavarian Alps unrolled, the first BRICS Parliamentarian Forum was taking place in Moscow – ahead of the BRICS summit in Ufa next month.
Neocons – with Obama in tow - knock themselves out dreaming that Russia has become “isolated” from the rest of the world because of their sanctions. Since then Moscow has signed major economic/strategic contracts with at least twenty nations. Next month, Russia will host the BRICS summit – 45 percent of the world’s population, a GDP equivalent to the EU, and soon bigger than the current G7 – as well as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, when India and Pakistan, currently observers, will be accepted as full members.....

New Media: Tarpley vs Kokesh vs Buildaburger Group

Alternative media debate between Tarpley and Kokesh at Occupy Buildaburger last month embedded below (small amount of vulgarity).

Long.  Many of the same issues we have been discussing lately here at MNE come up in a pretty far ranging discussion that hits Libertarianism, Institutionalism, Ron Paul's dangerous fiscal proposals, Hayek, von Mises, the emerging Syriza party in Greece, the 2012 US Presidential elections and more!

I can't help but feel that what is missing from this discussion on BOTH sides is a competent understanding of how our monetary economy operates and hence both sides here are way out of the MMT paradigm and ironically, the false issue concerning the fiscal deficit is about the only thing these two main characters end up in agreement on.

I'd even surmise that the morons in the Buildaburger Group, that these two semi-conspiracy theorists are here to observe, don't have the faintest idea of how our western monetary economies operate and while these two are outside and clueless in this regard, the group in this secretive meeting is in the hotel discussing nonsensical concerns about among other things the US and European debt and deficits.

Three blind mice.  Two blind mice here, supposedly watching the third blind mice in the Buildaburger Group; some may find this video entertaining in any regard.

To all thiose who still think the Fed is a private corporation

For those who still think the Fed is a private corporation independent of government, there is this, today:

May 22 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders, Barbara Boxer and Mark Begich plan to introduce legislation today that would remove banking industry executives from the 12 regional Fed banks’ boards of directors. “Allowing currently employed banking industry executives to serve as directors on the boards of directors of Federal Reserve banks is a clear conflict of interest that must be eliminated,” according to the text of the bill, released today by Sanders, a Vermont Independent who caucuses with Democrats.

So, Congress, i.e. GOVERNMENT, can remove executives of the Fed. Wow. Who'da thought?

This myth will likely never go away, but I'm happy to provide more facts to highlight its absurdity. It is still very popular among "hard money" types and conspiracy theorists of all stripes. The Fed is compelled to hand over virtually all of its profits to the U.S. government. I don't know of any private business that is forced to do that and certainly not an institution with the purported, vast powers granted to it by these conspiracy kooks. Then there's the fact that the Fed's board members are nominated by the President and confirmed by Congress and they all have terms that expire including the Chairman's term. Finally, the Fed itself was created by an act of Congress.

I guess everyone's entitled to their beliefs so if you're into alien abductions, Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster, feel free to add the private Fed to your list. Go ahead...knock yourself out!
