Trump stimulus? Fuhgeddaboudit. A super duper deficit hawk is now his Budget Director.

Trump has been choosing deficit hawk after deficit hawk, casting MAJOR doubt on his stimulus plans, except of course for rich people and corporations. Everyone else is likely to get screwed.

The Donald just chose super hardline deficit hawk, Mickey Mulvaney (R-SC) as his budget director.

Here's Mulvaney:

Mulvaney, 49, was elected to Congress in 2010 in the wave that brought a cohort of younger, staunchly conservative members into the House. Mulvaney quickly staked out ground as one of Congress’s most outspoken fiscal hawks — playing a key role in the 2011 showdown between President Obama and House Republicans that ended in the passage of strict budget caps.

He has been an advocate for spending cuts, often taking on his own party to push for more aggressive curbs to government spending.

And Trump seems to be 100% behind this. Check it out.

Republican Rep. Mick Mulvaney, President-elect Donald Trump's choice as his budget director, is a fierce deficit hawk with a record of pushing deep spending cuts across the federal government to balance the budget.

Is DJT caving to Paul Ryan?

Maybe not.

Strongly anti-establishment, Mulvaney has supported cuts beyond what House Republican leaders preferred and has refused to back deals to raise the government's borrowing limit, more recently causing heartburn for current Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis.

What was that about Trump's big spending plans?

In a statement, Trump commended Mulvaney's strong voice in Congress who will get America's fiscal house in order.

"Right now we are nearly $20 trillion in debt, but Mick is a very high-energy leader with deep convictions for how to responsibly manage our nation's finances and save our country from drowning in red ink," Trump said.

Mulvaney said he looked forward to working with Congress to create policies that will be "friendly to American workers and businesses."

"The Trump administration will restore budgetary and fiscal sanity back in Washington after eight years of an out-of-control, tax and spend financial agenda," he said.

You have to give Oklahoma Republican US Senator Tom Coburn high marks for consistency, if not compassion.

In the face of a major tornado disaster in his home state, that has taken the lives of 24 Oklahomans, including at least 9 children in a devastated elementary school, Coburn says he won’t support disaster relief for his home state unless the budget is cut elsewhere.

Yes, Coburn is taking his own constituents hostage as budget-cutting human shields.

It’s not the first time Coburn has taken hostages. Last winter, Coburn joined Oklahoma’s other far-right GOP Senator, Jim Inhofe, in voting against the Hurricane Sandy relief bill.

Way beyond moron level.

Republicans don’t really care about spending money like a (or for a) drunken sailor, so long as it’s for tax cuts and the Defense Department.  Then after their years of massive spending bankrupt us – like Reagan did, and then Bush II – suddenly the Republicans are deficit hawks, asking us to cut all of our programs while leaving theirs in tact.

Obama to nominate Jack Lew for Treasury, avowed deficit hawk

Tomorrow Obama will announce that he is nominating Jack Lew for the post of Treasury Secretary. Lew is currently White House Chief of Staff and before that, he was Director of OMB. Lew was Clinton's OMB director from 1998 to 2001, a period that saw the Federal Government run budget surpluses, which resulted in a major collapse of private sector savings, a collapse in the stock market and a recession. (It's a sectoral balances thing.) Lew is an avowed deficit hawk and has been very vocal about reducing the government's deficit and supporting the president's push for a "Grand Bargain." This means that Lew will almost certainly be pushing for more austerity.

So once again Obama spits in the face of the millions of people who voted for him thinking he was was going to stand up for their interests. Austerity will create more unempolyment and sustain the current trend of funneling more and more of our national income and wealth to the top 1%.
