Inae Oh — Reince Priebus Attempts to Normalize White Nationalist Stephen Bannon

In his first interviews since being named the incoming White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus took to the morning news shows on Monday to defend the appointment of Stephen Bannon, the executive chairman of alt-right media organization Breitbart News, as Trump's chief strategist and senior counsel.
"The guy I know is a guy sitting in an office all day yesterday talking about hiring, talking about people," Priebus said on the Today Show. "Here's a guy who is Harvard Business School, he was a ten-year naval officer, London School of Economics, I believe. He is a guy who is very, very smart, very temperate."
When asked about some of the race-baiting stories that have run on Breitbart, including one that stoked fears of Muslims and another that ran with an anti-Semitic attack on Bill Kristol, Priebus replied, "That wasn't his writing, that was some articles on Breitbart. That wasn't him."…
OK, that clears it up. The strategy is denial. He never said that stuff and if he did, he didn't mean it.

No more of a race baiter than virtually every Democrat in CONgress, the MSM or Hollyweird.

Give it up already with the sanctimonious whining.

Gonna have any links regarding possible DNC chair and racist, Keith Ellison?

Not only a matter of whining. The full force of the establishment is being unleashed on Trump now.

Notice that the tip of the spear is anti-semitism. This is not by accident.

Nothing to see yet. The Dems are still trying to regroup. There is going to be a battle royale as the establishment tries to hang onto power and blame the defeat on anyone but them.

The big news now is the firestorm over Bannon.

The whole world is now shaking, not only because of Bannon, of course. But the alt-right is now the focus.

I should have added to the above quote, "Perception is reality."

As Scott Adams has observed the opposition's strategy is to portray Trump as a monster. The appointment of Bannon is being used as the first salvo to confirm that. It was a gift to the opposition from their POV. Bannon will be held to account for everything published in Breitbart under his watch.

The Trump team now has to come up with an effective counter. Denial is not a powerful counter.

One more thing. I don't think Trump stands a chance. USA is far too divided along ehtnic and political lines, with a fake media stirring the pot daily. On the other hand if Trump builds the wall and grants amnesty (which he hinted at last evening on 60MINUTES) then maybe I'll be proven wrong.

It's all hoax news when coming from DNC, MSM and folks like SPLC. All of it. Psy ops 101.

A I said, "perception is reality."

Btw, anecdotally, I have been involved in several incidents that were reported in the news and reading about it later made it clear that the authors of the reports were clueless about what was involved and what had actually happened. They just made it up for stuff that they apparently heard.

This from decades ago, so it is nothing new.

It's new in the sense the the MSM has doubled down and went all in with an EXPLICIT partisan agenda, and that includes FoxNews. Wikileaks unveiled the deceit of the MSM. FCC should shut them down or fine them harshly.

And like it or not the alt media, both left and right, are the rising stars disseminating information along with social media. Bye bye newspapers (paywalls on the internet too) and television faux news.

It's a new age for media.

This was predicated by the rise of the Internet. Populations will become increasing factious as interest groups are served specifically rather than entire populations. Again, there are tradeoffs.

Politics and "news" don't mix well. Most political news turns into opinion news. And opinion news gets legs and has an effect via constant amplification of said opinion. This Bannon thing is an example of soft opinion news as Horowitz pointed out above. The Trump accuser news turned into opinion news also viz a viz endless amplification of dubious content. None of this is close to the journalistic integrity seen during the Watergate years. There will always be reporting of facts but unbiased political reporting is pretty much over, and probably never existed in the first place..Maybe going forward reporters could give the caveat that none of what or how I report is absent some form of bias. That would be a start.

Should be "Populations will become increasing fractious…"

Collision of different world views.

Did your read the replies?

Actually, a big criticism of Bernie during the campaign was that he was too white and didn't get minorities. HRC was supposed to do better than Bernie, since so much of the Dem base is non-white. That didn't turn out since they did not turn out for her.

Notice that the tip of the spear is anti-semitism. This is not by accident.

The MSM is not aware yet that this argument has worn thin. Americans may not have admitted to polsters they were voting for Trump, but they are even more reluctant to admit publicly that the anti-semitism label has started to piss them off. I don't know one person who either doesn't roll their eyes or exhale when an anti-semitism accusation is bandied about.

The issues facing American citizens today goes far beyond the concerns of those whose families were wiped out over 60 years ago. The people today are living. The dead are not. The immediate need is clearer.

Those living today are suffering from concerns that can be alleviated with better administration. Today. Yeah, yeah, history is a concern. But using it as justification for present action just because a bunch of ugly stuff was done over 1/2 a century ago doesn't cut the mustard when you need a decent job and have to feed the kids.

Besides, Jews are just fine in this country. All 2.2% of the US population that they represent.

The vote is over. The message is no longer being directed so much to voters as to influential people that DJT needs. Many of them are Jews. I assume that some of them are also concerned with the alt-right and its implicit embrace of white supremacists and self-identified Nazis.

DJT know that as long as he keeps up appearances, he doesn’t have to be concerned with voters until the 2020 campaign season, and given the seats stake in 2018, the GOP is safe unless there is a shock. Dem politicking will not be sufficient to take back either branch of Congress otherwise.

Now the competition of elites begins for the spoils, which involves bring power to bear, forging alliances, and horse trading.
