Lars Syll — Stiglitz on the ‘neoclassical synthesis’ — a religious belief

It argued that once markets were restored to full employment, neoclassical principles would apply. The economy would be efficient. We should be clear: this was not a theorem but a [fundamentalist] religious belief.
