The stunning result (for me) is that an increasing majority of Greeks support retreat and continuation of the current austerity if the Euro elites refuse to support Syriza’s request for some breathing space.
Support for retaining the Euro is increasing.
Those opinions are now the dominant view in Greece.
Even if Syriza goes back to the polls after failing to negotiate a reasonable deal with the Troika it is difficult to see those views changing....Bill Mitchell – billy blog

This has been the Greek electorate's view all along. For five years now. It should not come as a surprise. No one has even tried, in the slightest way, to educate them on the alternatives. And even if they did, it would be hard to overcome their perhaps irrational fears about inflation, a weak currency, loss of purchasing power, corruption, etc, none of which is inherently written in stone, but where there has clearly been a history in Greece.
Welcome deeper depression and the rise of Golden Dawn as anger seethes.
That seems to be a feature of religion and politics: handing over responsibility for your existence to someone or something else. Cooperation should arise from the integrity of the Self. Harmlessness and strength too. Without it humans are easily led, and corruption flourishes.
Sometimes I wonder, as the world burns, how patient is the human soul; and how difficult it is for the human being to listen to their heart!
