Women Used To Dominate The Beer Industry Until The Witch Accusations Started Pouring In — Laken Brooks

Male brewers saw an opportunity. To reduce their competition in the beer trade, these men accused female brewers of being witches and using their cauldrons to brew up magic potions instead of booze.

Unfortunately, the rumors took hold.

Women dominated the beer industry from the dawn of history until the witch accusations. Michael Hudson discusses Mesopotamian debt-jubilees' impacts on women brewers -- their debts to the palace were annulled, and they in turn were required to annul accumulated beer debt -- tabs!!!!

Up to around half of the calories of northern Europeans in the middle ages were derived from ale and mead (so without those women brewers, fewer of us of European extract would be here)

Did you know that women used to dominate the multi-specialty Ayurvedic hospital industry before men started accusing them of witchcraft? Google it...

Women used to dominate the manufacture of Overton windows, until men came along and shifted them way to the right.

Well I heard that window is now closing!
